YAY!

Now I can focus on Saving for Disney!

I no longer have to give you guys two totals! YAY!

Savings total for this week:

$302.75

Now for other updates.

I've been unable to find an apartment in Boone so far. I've found a few good options, but I've had a hard time getting in touch with any of these people looking to sublet. I have a feeling I won't be able to find anything until closer to the spring semester. But I'm going to keep looking until I leave and hopefully something will be nailed down.

Sad news about Ruby. We have to get her injuries appraised again. They may have to put her down. Our initial adjuster-man missed several things, and now it looks like the repairs our going to cost over the limit the insurance company will spend. So I will more than likely have to get another car (I would say new, but we can't afford new). Today, I'm going to a lot that we like a lot. We got mom's van there. I'm going to test drive several cars and see what I like. I'm trying to keep the price some where around or below 8,000. Which limits my options severely. But I'm going to go look around the lot and drive somethings and see what I like. Right now, there's a Toyota Camry that I'm very interested in, but we'll see what happens.

Right now I'm driving a rental car. It's REALLY nice. It's a 2009 Toyota Camry, and it's BLUE. Really blue! So I nicknamed it Geenie. I really like Geenie. I want to keep Geenie, but that's not going to happen. Geenie is spoiling me with her smooth driving self.

I kinda feel like I'm cheating on Ruby.

Also this past week, my cousins, and one of my aunts started trying to plan a trip to Florida to visit me in September! I'm so excited! I was so afraid that I wouldn't be able to see any one other than my parents during my time in Florida, but that is hopefully not going to be the case! My dad's side of the family is so close to me that in order to describe how close we are I usually tell people that when I say cousin what I really mean is sibling. My cousins are essentially my siblings. I love them dearly, and I'm so excited that a few of my sisters/cousins are trying to work out a visit!

My parents are also trying to plan a visit in the middle of December. Mom wants to do late Thanksgiving/late Birthday/Early Christmas. Which means I'll have to have my Christmas shopping done WAY early this year. But that's perfectly fine with me. I'm an early Christmas gift shopper anyway.

I'll be posting a real detailed post about my summer internship soon. I haven't really told you guys much about it. And I need to do another vlog sometime soon. Any suggestions on what it should be about? It's now been a month since my last vlog which is just sad.

But that's all for right now! Until next time, have a magical day!

Formspring Wednesday!

where did you answer my questions? Are you coming this weekend?
This question is from my cousin Kayla, and I'm guessing she was asking about our family's Easter Breakfast that we have every Good Friday. Kayla, yes I did come, lol. And are you talking about your questions about coming to visit me and me getting you a T-shirt? I answered those a long time ago. Just click on the tag "Formspring" and it should be one of the posts that come up. Btw, I will be at your birthday part this weekend! Are you a liscensed driver yet, cousin? ;)

If you could marry any animated Disney hero, who would you choose?
oh man, this is hard. I like them all really, but if I was going to MARRY one of them it would be Prince Phillip. He's a Prince, but he seems very modest and chill. He's confident and pretty funny I'd say. If you haven't watched "Sleeping Beauty" in a while, go watch it. Phillip is actually really funny (espescially when talking to his father, haha.) Yes, I would marry Phillip. Or Prince Edward from Enchanted just because he looks and sings like James Marsden. :)

Spring Break Summary...

Okay, so I haven't been blogging much this week because I've been on break and trying to enjoy my family. So here's where you guys get caught up on what I've been doing this week.

Friday night my family had a get together at my grandmother's house, and I was asked all sorts of questions about the program and given lots of congratulations (which is always fun.) I looked at my aunt's Disney World pictures. They went back in October, and it made even more anxious to be in Florida. Saturday was my nephew's 2nd Birthday Party. That was all kinds of awesome fun! Mom and I cut my hair between her helping my sister-in-law set up and the actual party. My hair rests JUST on my shoulders now. It's amazing. Thank goodness my mother is a hairdresser. Sunday was church, I went to my college sunday school class that I always miss so much when I'm away at school, and I got to see my dad sing in the service. My dad has an amazing voice.

Monday we kept my nephew. He's at a really adorable but crazy active age, and we discovered that he LOVES "Toy Story". He called Woody his "buddy." I showed him videos of the characters at the Disney World parks and he tried to hug my computer when Mickey came on the screen. I think he now believes my computer is the magical portal to Mickey and Woody. This day made me really hope that my brother's family would be able to visit me in Florida. Cody and Kaleb are at just the right age to really and truly appreciate Disney and it's magic.

Tuesday mom and I went shopping for Business Professional clothes for both Florida and my summer internship. We found a few things. Wednesday I had a meeting with Angie Gibson at "Skirt Magazine" about my summer internship. We talked about what I would be doing, and when I would be doing it. I told her about Disney and that I would be needing to get a part time job this summer. She was really nice, and laid back. Basically I'll be shadowing her and making sales calls. There is a chance that I will get to spend some time with Alice, the graphic designer they contract all their artwork out to. I'm really hoping I can. "Skirt" has an awesome look. I would love to see how this designer works. After that mom and I got lunch at Arby's and kept my nephew again for a few hours.

Later that night mom and I talked about possible hotels that we could stay at in Florida before I check in. We decided we did not want to stay at the Holiday Inn Sunspree so we're looking at other hotels in the area. We have a list of possibilities but we won't be able to book anything until mom finds out what days she has off from work (which won't be until sometime next week.) We're hoping to check in on Friday the 6th, and then spend Saturday and Sunday hanging out before they have to check me in on Monday. They'll be checking out on Tuesday and hopefully I'll be able to have dinner with them before they leave. That's the plan anyway. Mom just has to get Thursday, Friday, Monday, and Tuesday off from work. Dad's a self employed contractor so getting those days off is no problem for him, but mom has to get the okay from Pepsi. She works telemarketing sales at the Pepsi headquarters in town. After we talked about travel plans, mom and I talked about when she could visit me in Florida.

Thursday mom and I went to Concord Mills (a big mall about two hours away from us.) We went shopping again for Business Professional clothes. Then we went to the Disney Store Outlet. We bought things for my nephews' Easter Baskets, and I got a Mickey head for my car antenna and the 2010 Walt Disney World Birnbaum Guide. After spending HOURS at the Disney Store I missed our Hanes Mall Disney Store even more. It closed last year and I've been sad ever since. (although I did get a GREAT deal on a Beauty and Beast snow globe at their going out of business sale.) I wish I could work at a Disney Store for my part time summer job. That would probably keep me from being so anxious about Florida at least a little bit.

After the Disney Store we went to TJ Maxx and I got a pair of really cute sandals for dirt cheap. Then we went to Bass Pro Shop for dad. He wasn't with us but Bass Pro Shop is his favorite store ever so we stopped by to get him a little something for fun. Then we went home. I hung out with the family and watched television and read my Birnbaum guide. I checked out a few websites that I didn't know existed like http://www.disneyflorist.com/ and hinted at my parents that I might like to receive one of those when I'm there during the program. There's this really awesome breakfast arrangement that comes with LOTS of snack food and an awesome travel mug. I think mom got the message at least, lol.

Friday I hung out with the family some more and my friend Carrie came to visit at around 12:30. We watched a Fred and Ginger movie and a BUNCH of Jonas episodes, and then at 5:40 my friend Beth met us at my house and we all went to dinner and to see Alice in Wonderland. It was very good! I loved it! Then we went to the Starbucks Cafe in Barnes and Noble. We sipped our coffees/juices and walked around looking at DVDs and books. I bought two Jane Austen books. One is Jane Austen quotes and the other is about her personal letters to her friends and family. We drove throught pouring rain to get back to my house and then Carrie stayed up with me to watch half of "Mansfield Park" she went to bed and I finished the movie.

Today we both slept in really late. I was going to get up at 10, but I didn't end up getting out of bed until 11. It's bugging me that I slept in that late. Carrie left just a few minutes ago to head home. I've got to go to my old youth theatre's performance today. There's a show at 2 that I'm going to go to. They're performing "Suessical the Musical" and I can't wait to see it. Tonight I will probably be going to see Alice again for my cousin's birthday and then tomorrow I will hopefully be helping her celebrate her birthday again at a family luncheon. After that I go back to school and pull an all nighter doing the homework I've been putting off all week.

Hopefully next week we'll return to our regularly scheduled blogs.

Until next time, have a magical day!

No School, No School, La La La La La La!

Hopefully when you read the above title you picture the hyenas from the Lion King singing and dancing as they did in "Be Prepared", lol. I know I do! I tried to find a video of it to add to the post for effect but all I found was this multilingual vid that showed the scene over and over again in different languages. Well, the university closed today due to snow! YAY! I managed to finish all of my assignments and e-mail the people I needed to this morning still though, so now I'm blogging.

I told my self last time that I wasn't going to blog until Friday, and now it's Friday!

My family is supposed to get together at my grandmother's house tonight. We do this thing called "First Friday" where on the first Friday of every month we all get together for dinner and a movie at my grandmother's. This time I can't go, and I'm sad about that. But I've told dad to have every one Skype me if they end up going over there so I might still get to talk to my family tonight.

Alright, some of you who are my friends on facebook might have seen my minor freak out from yesterday. Let me explain. I was looking around disboards.com and I found this thread where people talked about rejections. That was my first mistake. As I read through I found out that some people were rejected because they only selected 5-8 roles. I immediately panicked because I only picked 5. I continued to freak out for a couple of hours until my cousin and some hopeful CPers snapped me out of it.

I realized I could do one of two things:
1. tell the recruiter at my interview that I would be open to more roles than the ones I checked.
2. I could go back to the college program site and revise my check list. (Yes, you can do that if you haven't had your phone intervew. Which I haven't had mine yet. 2 days to go!)

I chose to revise my checklist. I took another look at the roles and decided to check all the roles that I would be willing to do and not just the ones I was incredibly eager to do. This took my checked roles total up to 11. I was happy with that so I saved it, printed it, and looked over it again to see if that changed my top roles. It really didn't. Over the past couple of days I had rearranged it anyway but this really only drastically changed one thing...my number 5 slot:

1. Character Attendant
2. Merchandise
3. Hospitality
4. Concierge
5. Attractions

As you can see vacation planning has been bumped from my list. I just decided that I wouldn't be able to handle the sales goals very well. I would stress myself out. I work at a daycare so I can handle children, guests, and lots of things going on at once, but I know I could not take the pressure of sales goals. So, vacation planning was bumped in favor of attractions. I think it would be a real learning experience for me to do that role, but I doubt I'll be asked about it in my inerview. I'm banking on being asked about my top four so that's what I've prepared for.

Side Note: I downloaded some things to spiffy up my next Vlog! Which will hopefully be posted on Sunday night after I've had my interview. I'll try to remember as many details as possible for you guys!

Until next time...have a magical day! ;)
