Savings Update!

(40) Days until check in
(36) Days until I leave for Orlando
(32) Days until Charlie St. Cloud
(24) Days until Ramona & Beezus
(15) Days until Psych

Guess what? I'm officially completely ready to go to Disney! I was waiting for the school to register me for my 6 semester hours I need. That was done last week. So, now I'm finally ready to go!

What I'm not ready to do is come back.

I still need an apartment in Boone for the spring semester. I'll be apartment hunting next week as I have three days off. So, let's hope I have that nearly done this time next week. I also have to get my car fixed. Dad's supposed to take care of it, but he hasn't yet.

Also, last week the magazine mailed out another issue, and guess who's name was in it? MINE! I was credited as a "Marketing Intern", how awesome is that?

And now for the savings update:

Credit: 434.59
Savings: 242.75

I almost have enough to pay off the balance on my credit card! YAY! I can not wait until I've got that thing paid off.

That's all for today! Until next time, have a magical day!

Savings Update! :)

(54) days till Check in.
(50) days till I leave for Orlando
(4) days till Jonas LA
(2) days till Toy Story 3

Okay, so I'm still not registered for classes at ASU. They have two courses that are specifically intended for College Program Participants. We can be enrolled in them at ASU while in Disney and basically it's a way to have 6 semester hours of credit for doing the program. You're registered for two classes at App and then take 2 classes while you're at Disney so that you can earn whatever credits you need (for insurance purposes or, like me, to keep your loan grace period from starting). I talked to Sharon about registering for them and she told me to contact someone named Heidi so I could be added to the list. I contacted Heidi, and then contacted Sharon again (just in case).

That was the third week in May. Now it's June 16th and I'm still not registered. Sharon said it should have been done by the first week in June, and it still hasn't been done. I e-mailed her yesterday and I still haven't heard anything from her.

But I suspect I'll be hearing from her soon. Hopefully I'll have this taken care of in the next couple of weeks.

Alright, I got a paycheck on Monday. Time to update my savings totals.

Credit: $214.59
Savings: $122.75

So, still not stellar, but better than before. I also changed my percentages. Here are the new ones:

Credit: 55%
Savings: 30%
Me: 15%

Also! On an awesome random note, two of my friends brought me some awesome High School Musical cupcakes! Check them out! (There were 5, but I already ate the Troy cupcake. He was yummy.) ;)

That's all for now!

Until next time, have a magical day!

I'm Back Home!

I'M DONE WITH SCHOOL! YAY!

And on Wednesday I moved out of my apartment. I spent the day packing my car and driving back to my lovely small town that's still closer to a Target and SEVERAL Starbucks stores than Boone. I arrived back home Wednesday night and then spent Thursday unpacking and doing laundry. Today has been spent unpacking storage containers and sorting through things, throwing out what I don't need and putting away the things that I do. I'm so crazed right now because of it. My brain can no longer process what goes where.

So, I'm taking a break to blog about it. Here are my pictures of EVERYTHING I've got to find a place for.

So, as you can see my room and my house is a mess. It looks a little better now since I've finished clearing out my containers. Once I find a place for everything I plan to film a vlog and show you guys all the disney merchandise in my room alone, lol. My room is COVERED in Disney, haha.

That's all for right now guys! I can not wait until I get all of this clutter put away. It's very frustrating!

Until next time, have a magical day!

Job Hunt and Final Exam Countdown

Finally, I have time to do a personal update post. I feel like it's been a while.

New TOP 5 things to do list:

-Call Financial Aid and ask questions about leaving and coming back. (I've already done this once, but I want to ask everything again just in case. If anyone out there has any suggestions for things I should ask, then please comment and let me know!)
-Find a Job (I've already applied for 10 jobs. If I don't hear from any of them by next Wednesday I'll applying for more.)
-Create a Spec Ad for Angie at Skirt Magazine (This is for my internship supervisor. She wants to see what I can do, but I'm having a hard time finding time to sit down and make an ad for her.)
-Stop spending so much money. (I need to cut out everything unnecessary. Just need to spend money on food and things for school. Nothing else.)
-Finalize who's going to be in the apartment in Florida. (The apartment is essentially full, we're just waiting to hear back from some people.)

I've left out things related to school assignments (of which there are many) because I just wanted to focus on things that will affect my summer and the DCP. I've got a crazy amount of things to do for school right now. I've got 3 group projects to do, 3 huge single projects coming up, a ton of quizes and exams, and then after all of that...Finals.

Dum, dum, DUM!

But all in all I'm just trying to get through the semester because once the semester over I'll only have to wait three months before going to Disney. 12 weeks! YAY! Right now there are 16 weeks until I check in at Vista Way! Woo!

Also, I have 53 followers! *FIVE SECOND DANCE PARTY*

Awesome! I think I might record my next Vlog this weekend. It will be a normal average vlog. With my awesome intro. I'm going to read a few of my formspring questions from the last two Formspring Wednesdays, and talk about the make over my purple folder received (It was starting to fall apart so I had to save it.) See you guys this weekend!

Until next time, have a magical day!

Now Entering the Pile Up Zone. Ugh.

Okay, I have one semester left of school after this one and I'm already tired of it. I'm ready to have a real job and be doing something I'm passionate about. Hopefully the DCP will refresh me for my last semester of college. I'm also hoping it will help me make connections that could turn into a job at Disney. That's my overall goal. I love my school, I love major, and for the most part I love my classes, but I'm ready to graduate and truly strike out on my own.

Now that I've said that. Time to get to the purpose of this post.

This week is CRAZY busy. The week after Spring Break always tends to be insane around here, and this week is no exception. I've had lots of things due this week. You probably won't see many blogs from me until the weekend and even then I have a huge new proactive campaign I need to be working on for my Media Graphics class. I'll definitely keep you all updated, but probably not as frequently as I was. Also I can't promise a Top 5 every day anymore. Maybe I can promise you one once every week, but definitely not every day.

I have two tests tomorrow to study for and I need to be brainstorming for my Proactive campaign. It's HUGE. I have to make two posters and a brochure and I still have no idea what topic to pick. I also have to call the Dean's office for my senior audit and turn in the necessary paperwork for Florida to the registrar this week. I wouldn't expect another Blog or Top 5 until Saturday or Sunday.

This is when the work starts piling up. There are 36 days of class left in this semester so the final papers, projects, and not to mention exams will be popping up very soon. I'm going to be crazed with school from here on out. Luckily, though, I don't have to deal with registration on top of everything else this time around.

For those of you on Spring Break this week...enjoy it. It won't last forever. I'm a firm believer that Spring Break was entirely too short. Just three more weekends until Easter Break! YAY!

I'll see you guys this weekend and give you a report on all of my preparations for Florida! I'm thinking I might do a vlog about it. What do you guys think?

To vlog or not to vlog? That is the question.

Oh, and I'm thinking of setting up a particular day of the week where I answer my formspring questions. I'm thinking Wednesdays since I don't work on Wednesday mornings. I'll let you guys know my final decision this weekend!

Until next time, have a magical day!

No School, No School, La La La La La La!

Hopefully when you read the above title you picture the hyenas from the Lion King singing and dancing as they did in "Be Prepared", lol. I know I do! I tried to find a video of it to add to the post for effect but all I found was this multilingual vid that showed the scene over and over again in different languages. Well, the university closed today due to snow! YAY! I managed to finish all of my assignments and e-mail the people I needed to this morning still though, so now I'm blogging.

I told my self last time that I wasn't going to blog until Friday, and now it's Friday!

My family is supposed to get together at my grandmother's house tonight. We do this thing called "First Friday" where on the first Friday of every month we all get together for dinner and a movie at my grandmother's. This time I can't go, and I'm sad about that. But I've told dad to have every one Skype me if they end up going over there so I might still get to talk to my family tonight.

Alright, some of you who are my friends on facebook might have seen my minor freak out from yesterday. Let me explain. I was looking around disboards.com and I found this thread where people talked about rejections. That was my first mistake. As I read through I found out that some people were rejected because they only selected 5-8 roles. I immediately panicked because I only picked 5. I continued to freak out for a couple of hours until my cousin and some hopeful CPers snapped me out of it.

I realized I could do one of two things:
1. tell the recruiter at my interview that I would be open to more roles than the ones I checked.
2. I could go back to the college program site and revise my check list. (Yes, you can do that if you haven't had your phone intervew. Which I haven't had mine yet. 2 days to go!)

I chose to revise my checklist. I took another look at the roles and decided to check all the roles that I would be willing to do and not just the ones I was incredibly eager to do. This took my checked roles total up to 11. I was happy with that so I saved it, printed it, and looked over it again to see if that changed my top roles. It really didn't. Over the past couple of days I had rearranged it anyway but this really only drastically changed one thing...my number 5 slot:

1. Character Attendant
2. Merchandise
3. Hospitality
4. Concierge
5. Attractions

As you can see vacation planning has been bumped from my list. I just decided that I wouldn't be able to handle the sales goals very well. I would stress myself out. I work at a daycare so I can handle children, guests, and lots of things going on at once, but I know I could not take the pressure of sales goals. So, vacation planning was bumped in favor of attractions. I think it would be a real learning experience for me to do that role, but I doubt I'll be asked about it in my inerview. I'm banking on being asked about my top four so that's what I've prepared for.

Side Note: I downloaded some things to spiffy up my next Vlog! Which will hopefully be posted on Sunday night after I've had my interview. I'll try to remember as many details as possible for you guys!

Until next time...have a magical day! ;)

Dear Readers, I'm Spoiling You...

Don't expect a blog everyday because I know me and I know I won't deliver a post everyday. I told myself I wasn't going to post today, but then Boone got all this sleet and every body's operating on a 2 and a half or 3 hour delay. My 9 AM shift at the daycare became a 10:30 AM shift. So here I am...

This is the world outside my window right now:
Look at all that snow...and you can't tell but it's sleeting on top of that!

Let's hope it keeps sleeting and I don't have to go to work or class, but knowing my school that will never happen. I suspect it's run by a bunch of yankees who don't freak the heck out when it snows like us southerners do.

I honestly believe that I'll have to catch the bus at 10 for work and go to all of my afternoon classes, but I'm daring to hope that at 9:30 I'll get an e-mail saying that at least 12:30 and 2:00 classes are cancelled. That would mean I only have to go to one class today. So, cross your fingers.

Cross your fingers on your other hand though because your other fingers should already be crossed. You know in reference to a certain purple folder I'm DYING to recieve.

So, let's talk about planning for acceptance or rejection from the DCP.

Here's the plan if I'm accepted:
1. Pay fee
2. Send in necessary paperwork to the program and the school
3. Wait to go

Here's the plan if I'm rejected:
1. scrounge around for an apartment!
2. rush to schedule the classes I need.
3. Wait to apply for Spring 2011

So since I really don't want to have to go insane searching for an apartment in Boone at the last minute OR stress myself out trying to get into the courses I need to graduate AFTER everyone's registered let's plan on me getting in. Good plan right?

Also I reprinted my appliclation and my Role Check List last night so I know everything I told them on my application. Which is good because I had totally forgotten. I was too excited to remember. But now I know for sure that I applied for the following roles:

Mercahndise
Hospitality
Character Attendant
Vacation Planner
Concierge

and the order of their rank goes as follows:

1. Character Attendant
2. Merchandise
3. Concierge
4. Vacation Planning
5. Hospitality

I've heard they ask for your top three, but I've also heard they're very selective about the role of Concierge. I also know that Character Attendant is a really hard role to land because so many people apply for it. But we'll see how it goes on Sunday, and believe me I will blogging about it immediately after!

Until next time! Have a magical day! ;)
